The Tate Galleries and Slavery

Aisha Khan
Focusing on transparency and accountability, reimagining the text ‘the Tate galleries and slavery’ to be more accessible.

An 8-page saddle stitch publication available on arrival at the gallery, alongside a digital pdf and a version for the visually impaired. The central aims of the text being reformatted into a publication are to immediately acknowledge the galleries history, creating a space which is more inclusive to people of colour. Designed for guests to intentionally engage, redistribute, keep, read, and potentially re-visit.

A layer of translucent paper mimicking the uncovering of history, creating an intimate reading experience with the guests.
