Synopsis:

The Racket is a crime drama mini-series that exposes the complex world of immigration fraud, labour exploitation, human trafficking and the circumstances that lead people to such decisions. We explore the blurred lines between law, crime, and morality through the eyes of multiple viewpoint characters that find themselves in and around a major trafficking operation.

Solution:

I chose a semiology way to do the design.
A man dragging a suitcase over a gun reflects the theme: human trafficking, and the graphic shows the loneliness and lack of options for people trapped in human trafficking. The complex inner parts of the gun symbolise the highly sophisticated and well-connected crime syndicate. The blue and purple colors represent the Metropolitan Police and Heathrow Airport respectively. They team up with criminals to commit the crimes in the show. The title is in red contrasting with the grey background to indicate danger

Synopsis:

‘Supernova Nights’ is a film that follows four friends in their mid-20s, proud of recent successes until a nearby star explodes. The beautiful supernova turns deadly with harmful radiation, crumbling civilization. Each character clings to life but realizes hopes and dreams are past. Facing slow, painful deaths above, they choose between living in the dark or dying in the light. The film culminates with the characters having a bonfire on the roof of their block of flats high over London. The supernova, larger and brighter than ever, towers over them as they try to take their lives into their own hands one final time.

Solution:

The overall tone of the poster is a grand sense of apocalypse. Fire is an important symbol in this film. “The fire is also meant to be a contrast to the supernova. It’s something we create that is tiny compared to the massive supernova, but still can cause harm” Says the writer, so I chose to make an image of fire versus supernova.
